Handmade Earrings

Pearl drops, minimal studs and textured silver — designed to be worn every day, not saved for occasions.

Earrings get more contact with skin, hair and clothing than any other jewelry, so what they are made of matters. Ours are solid silver — mostly 999 fine silver and S925 sterling — with freshwater pearls and natural stones set by hand. Nothing here is plated over a mystery metal, which is the usual cause of itchy, green-stained ears.

The "Moon by Ear" studs are double-sided with texture on both faces, so they look deliberate from behind as well. The four-pointed star studs are cut and filed from 999 fine silver sheet, then tumbled to soften every edge. The blue sodalite and baroque pearl drops pair a natural stone with an irregular pearl, so the two halves never quite match — which is the point.

If you are buying initials, the 999 fine silver letter studs are made to order in the letter you choose and work for any gender. They are also the piece we most often ship as a gift, because they read as personal without being loud.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the earrings irritate sensitive ears?
The posts and hooks are solid silver — S925 sterling or 999 fine silver — with no plating involved. Most people who react to costume jewelry can wear silver without trouble, though nickel allergies vary, so read the metal line on each product page.
What is 999 fine silver and why use it for earrings?
999 fine silver is 99.9% pure. It is softer than sterling, so we use it where the shape allows — flat studs, small motifs — and it takes a beautiful soft matte that does not look like chrome.
Are the pearls in the drop earrings natural?
Yes, freshwater pearls with natural baroque shapes. Because each pearl grows differently, the pair you receive will be close in size but not microscopically identical.
How heavy are they?
All our earrings are designed for all-day wear and are light. Drop styles with a stone plus pearl are the heaviest pair we make and still sit under a few grams per earring.
